The project to provide safe drinking water targeted Punalkadu and nine other villages in Tiruvannamalai District, Tamil Nadu, where communities faced severe water scarcity and contamination, affecting health and daily life, particularly for women and children. Implemented from 01 July 2025 to 31 December 2025, the initiative benefited around 30,000 direct and 5,000 indirect beneficiaries by ensuring reliable access to safe and portable water. As a result, villagers saved time and energy previously spent fetching water, improved their health and hygiene, and gained the opportunity to focus on livelihoods. The availability of water also supported activities such as kitchen gardening and livestock care, significantly enhancing the overall well-being and quality of life across all ten villages.
